Some major fallout from the New Dawn PPV from last week, as well as some other news and notes from around the wrestling world…
Following the circus of a post-show press conference, Warrior Pro Wrestling issues a scorching press release:
The suspensions to Lariato and Lobo/Pantero seem symbolic in nature given that none of the three had any future commitments with the company, but the fines and suspensions to three of the top stars speaks volumes. As of this writing none of the impacted wrestlers could be reached for official comment, though sources say the Wyatt camp plan to appeal the fine.

El Macho and Lefty McDaniel announced a joint press conference set for next week, where the expectation is that a date for Lucha Fantastico, the joint promotion super show, will be announced. The show is currently rumored to be held in late February, and will be co-headlined by both the Lucha POWER and Warrior Pro championship matches.

It was recently announced that Vic Baron’s first match after winning the Warrior Pro Title would be in TIPWF, tagging with his father Austin for the first time since the elder Baron suffered a major concussion that almost led to his retirement. Austin was asked about the match and cut a promo that appeared on WPW.com:
Following the circus of a post-show press conference, Warrior Pro Wrestling issues a scorching press release:
Given the events that transpired after last week’s New Dawn event, Warrior Pro has handed down punishment to the wrestlers involved in the various altercations. Doc Wyatt has been fined for his role in the Lil Lariato confrontation, and Lariato has been suspended from Warrior Pro events for 30 days. Lobo Muerte and Pantero Negro Jr have both been suspended from Warrior Pro events for 30 days for their own confrontation. And finally, Machine Gun Mayhem and John Logan have both been suspended 60 days without pay for brawling in the locker room such that the authorities needed to be called to resolve the matter.
Warrior Pro Wrestling holds its athletes to a high standard, and the actions following New Dawn do not reflect that that bar. It is our expectation that these types of physical confrontations will in the future be confined to the ring.

“Everyone wanted to know if Austin Baron was done. Was it over. Would you see me in that ring, stomping away at some poor sonovabitch ever agin. Well, son- you just got your answer didn’t ya? Austin Baron has a hellova lot more ass kickin in these boots, that’s for damn sure. And this Friday, a pair of Barons are walking into a Texas ring for the first time in years, and we’re gonna show the entire Lone Star State why we are the legends that we are. Make no mistake about it, when the Baron Family is at full strength, there ain’t another two men alive that can wipe the sweat off our boots. And that’s all I got to say about that."
Shortly after the match was announced, Doc took to social media to give his own take on the matter:
“Glad to see Cogburn is ducking the Outlaws. Enjoy beating a paper champ and his crippled old man. #easywayout”
