Coming on the heels of a their massive anniversary show, there is tons of chatter happening around Warrior Pro Wrestling right now. Here are the biggest stories being discussed:
Warrior Pro’s Brick (real name Otto Casey)- who missed a scheduled appearance at last Friday’s Wacker Drive Revival show last week, quietly had shoulder surgery on Monday as a result of the post-match armbar delivered by former tag team partner Roy Carter. While we don’t know the nature of the injury, sources indicate the injury may keep him out 3-6 months.
Its official, John Logan vs Doc Wyatt for the championship will headline Warrior Pro’s as yet to be announced August show. The match is expected to be no DQ and in a cage. One has to assume this would be a blow off match, and could be Logan's last shot at the belt for the foreseeable future.
The recent success of Rampage Hunter winning the iWe Intercontinental championship has convinced Tank McDaniel that the promotion is ready to have its own secondary singles title. Rumor is the initial champion will be crowned via a single elimination 16-man tournament. While nothing is confirmed, it is believed that the tournament will be held later this summer and include wrestlers from outside the company.
Wonderland was spotted back in LA at his dojo, the first time people have seen him since he ditched his position as head trainer of Warrior Pro. The company has been silent on Wondy’s status with the company, though sources say the issue will be addressed at the next Warrior Pro taping, tentatively schedule to be in a couple of weeks.
And finally, Jimmy Hawkins contract with AAW quietly expired over the weekend. While he may still be taking dates with the company, a return to Warrior Pro Wrestling seems inevitable…
